I wrestled with a review on this software. In the right situations, it's great, but for my use it largely failed. I was trying to help a coworker move to a new computer - and she uses a software that we can not find install media for. It's been a pain to try to move it to the new computer. So, for a couple of bucks, I thought we'd give this a try. It grabbed 90% of the computer and transitioned it to the new machine, but it missed that needed piece of software. So, if you're only using for ease and you can find install media, I'd say this is worth a try. If you have a problem program that you absolutely must move to a new pc, I will wish you luck, but it might not work.

The three stars are for the overall experience. The software itself, once installed and functioning properly, was 4+ stars.\n\nI ordered this software through Best Buy because it was $10 cheaper than anywhere else. Within two hours of ordering I was sent a link by Best Buy, and that's where the fun began.\n\nThe link didn't work, necessitating an online chat with Best Buy support. That went nowhere, so a call was required. The agent was able to get me a second link, direct from the manufacturer, and that link worked and I installed the software.\n\nRan the software, and it kept getting hung up at the exact same spot on three attempts. Called LapLink support and spent an hour on the phone with the rep, who was unable to solve the problem and sent it to the "escalation team". I was told they would respond in 24 hours...they didn't. Received a cryptic e-mail from their support about how they were unable to duplicate the problem 48 hours later.\n\nCalled LapLink support again and the agent told me they discovered a bug that was causing the exact same problem I was having and had me uninstall/reinstall. After that I was able to run the application and do a full data transfer.\n\nThe entire process took five days from the date of order. I could have transferred the data manually in that time.

I was regretting upgrading my computer that was 7 years old but knowing Windows 10 support was ending I thought now was the time. It didn't go flawlessly but when going from one Windows system to Windows 11 I didn't want to chance doing it myself. It went pretty well and fast I hooked both computers via ethernet cord only took an hour saved me a week. I did lose a few programs but all I had to do was reinstall them at least the data files we there. I did have a few problems with windows 11 I highly recommend disabling Windows one drive That cost me time than anything else. So far so good.

I was helping a friend to get his new laptop up and going and decided to use LapLink's PC Mover to do so. I had used this software once before a few years back and basically forgotten everything about it. \r\nPurchased the download version through B&H Photo which went really well, a simple process. Registered the program installed it and followed the instructions, I chose to use the wireless transfer option which PC Mover walk me through the steps, 1hour 45minutes later we were done. This is a fantastic product, in fact I am purchasing another to set up my new computer today.

Ordered digital version that was "delivered" into the BB digital library. I could not retrieve the software but atleast could see the license key. Working with Laplink I was able to upload the software and get it to work. Transfer took 6 hours after spending 2 hours with Laplink. There has to be a better way!!

I bought 3 copies of PCmover to copy 3 PCs. The first two moves were perfect. When I booted up the new PCs they looked and worked just like the respective old PCs. The third PC was a problem. When the copy completed the new PC would not boot. After a couple tries, the PC offered me several options for trying to comlete the boot. The only option that would result in a boot-up was to reset to the "last good configuration." When that boot completed I found that only files had been copied...no Start Menu, no apps, no Desktop. I called LapLink support for help (you can't re-run a copy...it s a one-time deal). I gave control of my PC to the tech rep and she made a bunch of adjustments and uninstalls, then kicked off the copy process again. She ended the call by telling me to reboot the new PC when the copy completed. I ended up in the same no-boot situation I had been in the first time. I've asked for a refund for this copy of PCmover but LapLink has not responded.

I was able to move the majority of the old computer's programs and settings with no major issues. However, there were certain specialized programs that were required to be removed completely and reinstalled from the original vendor, then move the data manually into the new computer's data location.

I never imagined that data and applications would be migrated without pains. But now Laplink eliminated every agony from me. It was really smooth and safe. \r\nThe only problem was that I had to contact the customer service because my license was suddenly invalidated. I was really embarrassed.

The process was seamless. I let it run overnight when the estimated time kept increasing. It took seven hours but transferred all of my programs and data. I had to manually move explorer favorite places but the passwords did not transfer. altogether efficient.

I have used PC Mover three times in the last 6 years and find it quite time-saving over the option of doing all the files and installs manually. The best thing is not losing default settings and cookies. The last time I used it there were some glitches with transferring email accounts but Microsoft was able to untangle it. I found only 2 programs that had to be re-installed and they were easy to download and when done all the saved data had transferred and was waiting for me!

We recently setup a new Windows 11 HP Z2 G9 Tower Workstation. \n\n\nAfter setting up Windows 11 Pro, we used Laplink PCmover\n\nProfessional 11 to move programs, files, etc. from the new PC’s predecessor to the new HP Z2 G9 Tower.  \n\n\nAll went well except that we had to track down the licenses for and or login to programs like Microsoft Office, etc.\n\n\nLaplink PCmover made the transition substantially smother than if we had reinstalled applications from scratch.

I had to rely on customer support to get both computers to download the necessary software. Once it finally did, it worked fine to transfer files seamlessly. Took about 12 hours to complete.

So easy to use. Only took 35 minutes to transfer everything. Loved that I could download directly after I purchased it.

I needed something to move all the old programs and files from our old Windows 10 PC to the new Windows 11 PC and this seemed to be just the thing. I set it up to move everything over our in-home wifi and let it run overnight because it takes a while. In the morning everything was moved and the new PC is working perfectly along with our old programs.

It's easy to use. But does take a bit of time, especially if you use the network-based transfer medium. You should remember that after you do the transfer there will be some things on the old computer that did not transfer. And you will have to do setup on things that did transfer on the to the new computer.

easy peasy, downloaded app. installed on both computers and it worked easily. Even had a power down and power back up issue (it was a long transfer over Wi-Fi) and it didn't hiccup at all.

Did just as promised; moved all the apps that didn't require a product key. All the documents and files were right where they were on the old computer. B&H's price was great.

This version works better than the one I used 18 months ago. I just set it up with the help of their chat line and let it run. \r\nSo much easier than in the past.

Excellent software and great service. I called support on the phone and was very pleased with the service. I would recommend this software to others.

It worked after a few hiccups involving disconnecting during transfer but could have easily been my internet. It worked seamlessly otherwise.

Transferred data to new computer. Simple, user-friendly operation,flawlessly executed.

I am a volunteer for a local non-profit. Our old PC was showing signs of a death so I purchased a new Dell computer based on recommendations by Consumer Reports. I am very pleased with the computer, and I ordered along with it Dell's migration software. I was told that it would duplicate the old computer's files to the new Dell.\n\nWhen I received the new computer, set about loading the migration software on both the old and the new computers. I ran the program on both computers. \n\nAfter 90 minutes, the migration was done. Unfortunately the migration was very incomplete. Only my user account was transferred; the other two, not. NONE of the applications transferred. After reviewing my work, I contacted Dell and was told that the software did exactly what it was supposed to do. I asked for my money back, but Dell refused. (In all of this, I will say that Dell's customer support is TERRIBLE. Very hard to talk with a real, live person)\n\nI started to look for others options. I did not want to try to transfer software which was old. I lacked any purchase information. I would have to download the software, and then I would have to try to it work! Windows is so complicated in this area when compared to MacOS.\n\nI found the PCMover program and have used Laplink software successfully in the past. I ordered it and downloaded. The installation was quick. I opened its manual which was quite complete. \n\nUsing it, I started the transfer from the old to new computer. This required over five hours which expected based on the Dell software. After the transfer, I started using the new computer and found that ALL items transferred correctly. The only areas where I had to intervene was deactivating the antivirus software on the old computer so I could activate on the new and do the same for the backup software. \n\nAfter a week of using the new computer, the only problem I have is a startup error claiming a missing driver. I learned that this common with Windows 11. This does not cause any problems.
